L.O.H.S. Girls Tennis – 2019

Thank you for your interest in playing tennis for L.O.H.S. this season.  The following is important information regarding this year’s tryouts and team information.

CLEARANCE:  You must be “cleared” for the sport before you will be allowed to participate, this includes tryouts.  A current physical must be on file with the athletic office, and you must pay your athletic fee. If you have questions, see Mrs. Kaelin in the front office (she is the athletic secretary).

TRY-OUTS:  Will be held beginning Monday – February 25th.  ALL PLAYERS must attend try-outs, even if you are a returning Varsity player.  The girls’ try-out time is from 3:50-4:40. Thursdays we will meet from 3:30 – 4:40.  Please be dressed down and meet on the upper courts promptly at 3:50. Wear athletic clothes & shoes and bring a water bottle to try-outs!  If it’s raining – listen for announcements on the P.A. system for alternate instructions. Depending on the weather, the tryout process can take up to 2 weeks.   Please keep your schedule open for the weekends of March 2nd and March 9th as these additional try-out days are often necessary to finalize the try-out process.  These sessions are held at Lewis & Clark College. Times will depend on court availability.  We will notify you as soon as the availability is determined.

PRACTICES:  After teams have been determined, practices will be held after school from 3:50-5:30.  All players are required to attend every practice unless otherwise arranged with your coach.  Participation with/in other tennis programs does not fulfill the practice requirements for the LOHS team.

UNIFORMS:  We will be using navy blue tennis shorts or skirts this season.  If you have a navy blue skirt or shorts (with pockets) you may use what you have, or you can purchase a new one at a reduced rate.  We will be using the same team shirts this year so if you have one from last year, you may wear it, or you may opt to purchase a new one.  Other spirit wear such as sweatshirts and sweatpants are optional and will be available for purchase. Information regarding uniforms and spirit wear will be handed out the first week of try-outs.

PARENT MEETING:  We will have a parent/coach meeting scheduled for the week of March 11th.  Once the date is confirmed – an e-mail will be sent with details on time/location.  Player/parent handbooks will be distributed at the meeting, along with an opportunity to meet the coaches and have questions answered.  This will be a “parents only” meeting.

COACH CONTACT:  If you have further questions, please e-mail to:  woodd@loswego.k12.or.us

We are looking forward to a great season!
